International companionship program: heading to China!
CréaTIC is strengthening its international work by offering its students a specific scheme combining theoretical learning in a university and professional immersion in a company or institute. It is an international fellowship whose first year takes place with China, focusing on art and design. In some fields, digital technology is generating profound changes to professions. It is important that students are better prepared for this. A wider knowledge of professional practices and corporate and economic issues becomes necessary. Discovering these practices contributes to and plays a part in improved employability of students, particularly at international level.
The International fellowship scheme offers students the chance to experience different professional practices from those developed in France and especially in China, focusing on design and its developments on various digital art and cultural communication media and new media. CRéaTIC offers its students the chance to go to Beijing for 4 months where they are hosted by its partners. The challenge is both cultural and professional since students will have to be immersed in a new culture and a new environment. They will therefore have the opportunity to benefit from international theoretical contributions and apply them directly to the development of the project that will be at the heart of their internship. CRéaTIC also offers financial support since a monthly scholarship will be given to students taking part in this scheme.
For this first experimental phase, which will begin in March 2016, 5 students enrolled on the CRéaTIC Masters will be selected to participate in this exchange program. They will attend classes for 1 month at the Institute of Art and Design in Beijing and undertake a 3-month internship at one of three identified companies and institutes: the Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of the Academy of Sciences and the companies Taagoo.com and SIS’GOIN. The purpose of the course will need to considered sufficiently in advance with the teacher in charge of the training because the student will have the opportunity to develop their project within the company with the support and assistance of the host establishment. The project may also be undertaken in a group.
To apply for the international fellowship scheme, download the form and submit it by 18 January 2016 to office CE7 at the CRéaTIC-Paris 8 University. (Building C)
